It is hard to even know where to begin this post and even harder for me to write it. As most of us are parents to young children you all know how hard it can be to see our children sick or hurt. I can't even begin to imagine the feeling of finding out your child has the dreaded "C" word. Cancer.
No child should have to face cancer. They shouldn't even have to know what cancer means. They should be riding bikes, playing, going to school and just being kids!

Why am I writing this about cancer? Thankfully both of my boys are healthy. However a close family friend of mine hasn't been so lucky. Her little girl Jillie, just 2.5 years old was just diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. A fast moving, aggressive form of leukemia that if not treated, could be fatal in a few months.

Luckily after weeks of being sick, Jillie was diagnosed and quickly moved to an amazing children's hospital. She will now be living in the Ronald McDonald housing for the next 6 to 12 months as she undergoes many many treatments and blood transfusions.
Remember she is just 2.5 years old. How do you even begin to explain to her what is going on and why she is now living far away from home and facing months and months of treatments?

So far Jillie is being a rockstar and keeping a smile on her face! She actually feels good with new healthy blood running through her! She is a fighter and one tough little girl. If anyone can fight this it is Jillie and her family.

In my small way of feeling less helpless and helping out in any way I can, I've started Rally for Jillie on my blog! I'm seeking sponsors willing to donate two items. One to add to the giveaways and one to send to Jillie. My hope is that this will keep her spirits up, help keep her occupied, to just keep her being a kid through this ordeal.

If I could hug the sponsors that have stepped up to help, I would in a heartbeat!  Their kindness and generosity to help a sick little girl says more about these companies than any review I could ever post. So if you are reading this, please take a moment to show some love to these amazing companies. To thank them for their small act of kindness that can go a long way in the journey to heal and cure baby Jillie.

Cow & Lizard Review - Crocodile Creek Dinnerware

I've recently had the opportunity to work with Cow & Lizard. Huh? No I haven't been down on the farm, but working with a fun online children's toy and clothing store! The name is so cute and had my attention when I first came across the site.

Not only is the name so fun and adorable but the web site design and the products they carry as well. They are also extremely friendly and nice and it has been such a pleasure to work with them!

About Cow & Lizard
Cow & Lizard is a small family operated business and they believe "kids should be kids". They sell clothing and toys and only carry what they would allow their own kids to play with. Their clothing is all made in the USA and are designed to be loose fitting and comfortable.

Customer satisfaction is very important to them and they hope they can meet and exceed your expectations!

Cow & Lizard Review & Crocodile Creek Dinnerware
In working with Cow & Lizard I had the chance to review the dinnerware by Crocodile Creek. Each boy got a set and they are very cool and right up my boys interests. They have made meal time fun!

Big Brother claimed the Fire Truck Plate and Fire Truck Bowl with matching place mat, which left the Dinosaurs Divided Plate and matching place mat for Little Brother. They barely gave me a chance to get them washed before they were begging to eat with them.

The colors are so bold and bright and the designs are very cute and nice. They are a heavy duty kid-safe melamine so no biggy if they get dropped on the floor. They are also top rack dishwasher safe which of course I love.

The Dinosaur Divided Plate is big enough for any meal and yet still fits on a high chair tray which is important. And at $7.99 this will last you forever! Very good quality. They also have other matching product lines that can go with this like the matching place mat. The place mat is $4.49 and is a generous size of 11"x17". It is polypropylene and pvc free which is important to me and easily wipes clean after each use.

Big Brother claimed the Firetruck set as trucks and cars are a huge item of interest around our house. This worked out perfectly for him as since he is older he can have a plate and bowl a little bit easier. And these are no tiny little kid dishes. The plate is 8.5" diameter and the bowl is 6.5" diameter. The bowl costs $4.49 and the plate $5.49 making these also an affordable gift solution for any child!

I already stated above that I really have enjoyed my contact with Cow & Lizard. I always love when I come across a store or person who is just "real" and genuine. I feel that with Cow & Lizard and love supporting a family owned company. They even sent a special gift just for me in my package! Very thoughtful and so sweet to think of Mom too!

The holidays are coming up very quickly and Cow & Lizard would be the perfect place to do a little shopping! They have a huge line up of fun affordable gift ideas. Here is just a few of my favorites...

You can of course keep up to date with Cow & Lizard on Facebook for all new products and updates or on Twitter too!

Check them out, support a family owned company and tell them I sent you! I know you will find something your kids will love or the perfect gift!
