Stonz Booties Review

Through my blog I come across many products that are so purposeful, so unique and items that I may not have had the opportunity to come across otherwise. I love being able to discover and put these items to the test.

I came across one of these products, Stonz Booties nearly two years ago while I was pregnant with Little Brother. I spotted them online and knew we had to have a pair for him. See our family loves to be outdoors and we snowshoe in the winter. When Big Brother was a baby, his feet would get so cold while we were out snowshoeing. We would put big wool socks over his feet and layer him up, but it wasn't necessarily ideal. I knew that these Booties would be perfect out snowshoeing for Little Brother and for all our other outdoor activities. I ordered a pair and they were amazing!
(Some of my favorite first pics of Little Brother in his first pair of Booties. Oh just look how small he was. The first photo he was just 4 months old and out camping :o)
About Stonz
Stonz is a Canadian based company and came about by two Mom's trying to keep their kids feet warm in their wet and rugged West Coast. Lisa an active mom used to wrap scarves around her son's legs to keep him warm while he was in a backpack. A light bulb struck when she met a mom who had hand made a bag style boot for her child and she instantly knew those booties could fill a need in the market.

Now after 5 years of business and success the Stonz team knows they are meeting that need and have branched out to other great products.

Stonz Booties Review
I've already told you how much I love our Stonz Booties. Little Brother's first pair was used and used and sadly he outgrew them. I was so excited to now have an opportunity to review them on my blog and that Stonz now makes the Booties in a few styles in size extra large. These are sized for appoximately age 2-3 and this was the size I chose to review for Little Brother. I wanted them to be a bit big for growing and to wear over shoes if we wanted.
This is how my Stonz Booties came packaged. All wrapped up cute in a little Stonz reusable bag! Nice!

The Booties are a durable coated nylon upper, fleece lined for warmth and comfort and rubberized, skid resistant soft soles. They can be worn over shoes, slippers or just bare feet. You can also purchase a separate warm Stonz Liner to make these the ultimate winter boot. Two adjustable toggles at the calf and ankle give a custom fit and guarantee the boots stay on.

The Booties are wind and water resistant. So these are not a rain boot for standing in puddles, because after a bit your child's feet will be wet. Trust me we've tried it. But they are great for all types of weather. We've used ours camping many times, out around the house in the yard, Easter Egg Hunting and anywhere you would put boots on your kids. I especially love that they are soft and easy to walk in for little ones. For babies who are crawling or just learning how to walk, for one you can't find boots that small usually, and two if you did they are stiff and can't walk in them. These provide easy movement no matter the age or shoe size. They are also super easy to put on and over existing pants or leggings.

And what makes mom's life even more easy, they are machine washable of course. We used our first pair for two winters with Little Brother and took them everywhere. And if you were to look at them, you can hardly even tell they've been worn. They hold up to kid abuse exceptionally well!

Now for the cuteness factor. All of the Booties are so cute! Choose from tons of different colors and design choices. We reviewed the Elephant Slate Blue as they are one of the styles you can get in the XL now. Had I ordered a size down I would have for sure chosen the Race Car Black for Little Brother.

The Booties are priced at $39.99 and can be found on the Stonz website, Zappos.com and many other local retailers around the United States and Canada. Check out the store locator for your nearest location.

I mentioned before that Stonz now carries a line of Mittz and Hats as well. I have not tried out the Mittz but as they look very similar to the Booties, I bet they are amazing. Just look at the long sleeve area to come up and over your child's coat to keep out the cold and snow. As well as the toggles to keep them secure! Love it!

You can follow Stonz on Facebook and Twitter for updates, giveaways, sales, coupon codes and more! I can't say enough great things about these booties. If you have little ones and love to be outdoors, these are for you!
