Tommee Tippee Explora Truly Spill Proof Drink Cup Review & Giveaway

If you have a house with children of any age, you've probably at one time or another searched for a sippy cup or drinking cup that is truly spill proof. I was on that mission a few weeks ago and fed up with the cups I had leaving puddles of milk on my floor, the table, the couch, the car....(sigh)

Well I was at our local Target store and found the Tommee Tippee Explora truly spill proof sippy cup. And guess what? It says right on the package. Truly non spill - no more leaks! Hmm I thought, could it really be true as most make this same claim. In the cart they went. What did I have to lose....

So first thing when we got home I put them to the test. Shaking, tipping and leaving it overturned on the floor and counter. NO LEAKS! It's a miracle!

I've been using the sippy cups now for about a month and they are still leak proof. They pop right in the dishwasher and the lids screw on easy. I'm really loving these cups as well. My 1 year old can use them and so can my 3 year old. I will even leave the valve out so it is more like a learning drinking cup than a sippy cup for my oldest son. They are easy to hold and have a nice soft spout. They also have fun cute kid prints on them in bright fun colors.

The valve is quite different in these cups and perhaps that is why they truly don't leak. Tommee Tippee calls it a clever bit. The active sensor valve is designed by a physicist to be both sensitive that liquid flows on demand, yet truly spill and leak proof. The valve comes out and apart for easy cleaning. I leave mine in the lid when I put it in the dishwasher and then rinse it out when it comes out.

I love that these drink cups are insulated and BPA free. And I love that the lids go on so easy and line up correctly. No strength training needed to put and take off these lids.  It does appear that the lids are not interchangeable though which I thought they would be. Of course this does not effect the function. I also love that they are dishwasher and microwave safe.
