Mother’s Day Cloth Diaper Giveaway Hop {Sponsor Spotlight}: Baby Babu Cloth Diapers

About Baby Babu
Baby Babu is a new cloth diapering company offering affordable, premium cloth diapers, diaper covers, wet bags, biodegradable disposable diapers and cloth diaper accessories. Baby Babu was founded by parents of twin boys and they strive to provide the highest degree of customer service and the highest quality products available.

Since I've been working with Baby Babu their customer service has been amazing. Fast response to emails and extremely helpful and generous. I was sent the One size pocket diaper in Kiwi Green.

Baby Babu Review
As Baby Babu is a newer company I hadn't heard any information about them and didn't know what to expect of the diaper. I was quite pleased when it arrived! The materials are super soft and the inside leg gussets were a surprise! This was the first pocket diaper I had seen with these!

Diaper Info
• waterproof PUL Cover
• 3 layer super absorbent insert
• Adjustable sizing from 8-35+ pounds
• double gussets
• 2 pocket openings
• moisture wicking liner

Another surprise and one of my favorite features of this diaper is that the insert snaps in. So no bunching or shifting of the insert. I love that! I also love that this diaper has 2 pocket openings. Not only does this make it very easy to stuff, but it also allows the insert to self agitate out in the wash. No extra dirty work, just throw the whole diaper in the wash.
The snaps were easy to adjust and customize the fit. My son is 14 months and about 22 pounds and i had a couple sets of outer snaps still available for room to grow. We had no leaks, no blowouts and no diapers falling off. The inside fabric also seems to repel stains well.
So overall I think this is a great diaper. And at $11.99 they are affordable too! A great set of diapers for those considering cloth diapering or an affordable way to build up your diaper stash! You can purchase this diaper here!

Baby Babu also carries extra inserts, in either microfiber or bamboo, wet bags and biodegradable, hypoallergenic, chemical-free disposable diapers too. All priced very affordable!

And as I mentioned before Baby Babu is extremely generous! Not only are they offering TWO diapers for the Mother's Day Cloth Diaper Giveaway hop! You can get an extra 10% off their already fantastic prices. Just enter the coupon code TRYUS10!

So make sure you check out Baby Babu at their website and visit them on Facebook too for up to date info, specials, coupon codes and more!

Mother’s Day Cloth Diaper Giveaway Hop {Sponsor Spotlight}: Smush Tush Cloth Diapers

I am so excited to share my review of Smush Tush Cloth Diapers. Not only because the diapers are fantastic but because Kat, the owner and designer of Smush Tush is a fellow Oregonian! We're practically neighbors! :o) And there is nothing I like better than working with other Mom's, but it is even more fun when they happen to be local and we can team up!

About Smush Tush
The owner Kat is a mother of two under the age of three and a part-time pediatric RN. Talk about a busy mama! She believes in cloth diapering, saving money and keeping our landfills free from everlasting disposable diaper garbage!  And not only is Kat one busy mama, but she is a giver too! $1 of every sale goes to a Morale Fund for patients and their families at the Doernbecher Children's Hospital Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit in Portland, Oregon.

Smush Tush Review
I still find it so funny how we can get so attached and "LOVE" a diaper. I mean it is still a diaper right? Yet when I opened my package of Smush Tush and found the Comic Book print diaper, so bright and vibrant and all crazy boy looking...yep I loved it!

This comic book print diaper I was so lucky to have a chance to review is a one-size pocket style diaper. The one size rise fits approximately 10 pounds through potty training. Meaning you won't have to be purchasing any other diapers. The outside comic print is PUL waterproof fabric and the inside is a soft black micro fleece, ensuring stay-dry wicking on your baby. The leg and pocket elastics are triple stitched and the snaps are reinforced and both guaranteed forever. Yes you read that right...FOREVER!

This diaper was an excellent fit on my son who is 14 months old and about 22 pounds. No sagging, no gaps, no leaks or blowouts. The pocket is easy to stuff and the insert stays in. I'm usually a hook and loop girl but the snap setup on this diaper was easy to use and get a custom fit. It was also great because my son could not undo the snaps :o)

I also really loved that this diaper has 4 rise settings. Normally my son is on the largest rise, but on this diaper the best fit was the 3rd rise leaving some extra growth. This is also a very trim diaper, of course depending on your insert you can make it as trim or padded as you wish.
This diaper is also a great because you can throw the whole thing in the wash. I didn't pull out my insert prior to washing and it was only partly out when the cycle was done. So you might want to pull out your insert prior to washing. However my insert was still perfectly clean so it wasn't an issue for me. You also want to make sure to line dry the diaper, and with the cozy fleece and PUL it dries very quickly.

You can purchase Smush Tush here on Kat's Etsy site. This one-size pocket style diaper is $19 and does not come with inserts. She also offers newborn cloth diaper covers, one-size cloth diaper covers, organic hemp soakers, microfiber soakers and flannel wipes. And best of all you can completely customize your own pocket diaper, right down to the snap colors!
Here are a few other options you can purchase from Smush tush!
Make sure you keep up with Smush Tush on Facebook as well for updated fabrics and more!

So why wouldn't you buy a Smush Tush diaper? I don't know! Made by another Mom, soft cool, unique fabrics, stitching and snaps guaranteed forever plus $1 of each sale going to help the Children's Pediatric Unit. This all sounds pretty good to me.

And Kat is not only a giver to the Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit, she is a giver to one of my readers as well! One of my lucky readers will WIN a Smush Tush Diaper of their choice as part of the Mother's Day Cloth Diaper Giveaway Hop starting May 1st! So make sure you come back and enter to win this diaper and other fantastic diapers and accessories!

BumGenius Freetime AIO Review
I was able to review the Freetime AIO diaper in hook and loop in the color Moonbeam.
I was expecting great things from this diaper having heard so much about them. And it didn't disappoint.

Diaper Details
• 3x3 front snap down to adjust sizing. Designed to fit from 8-35 pounds.
• Stretchy tabs are trim, snug & comfortable. Designed to provide a trim fit.
• One step cloth diaper. No stuffing is involved.
• Two rows of snaps to give you a trim bumGenius fit.
• Gentle leg elastic to contain any messes.
• Semi-attached stay-dry inserts dry faster and can be used to customize absorbency to meet your baby's needs.
This diaper fit my son perfectly. No sagging, no gaping and best of all...NO LEAKS! It is also very trim. The outer shell is waterproof and soft and the inner fabric is a soft stay dry suedecloth that wicks moisture away from your baby's skin. The fabric is soft and the elastics around the legs are tight enough to prevent leaks without causing red marks.

My favorite feature of this diaper is that it is an AIO and there is no stuffing. This feature makes it great for families with a child in daycare or for anyone hesitant to use cloth diapers. There is no extra steps involved. You simply throw the whole diaper in the wash, line dry and start over again.

And the way this AIO is designed you can customize the flap inserts to fit your absorbency needs. I added extra folds up front for my son. The inner soakers are specially sewn with little pockets, to guarantee the water gets in and around all parts for a perfectly clean diaper!

I also personally love the hook and loop. As does my husband. It is a quick easy on for a squirmy baby.  Plus you can get it as tight as you want in just one try. The only downfall is if you have a baby who loves to pull on the tabs. Mine is just starting to do this...ahhhh! The Freetime also does have hook and loop tab spots you fasten up before washing.

Now the only downfalls I have found to this diaper are that you need to line dry them to get the longevity of the diaper. This wasn't too much of a problem as they do dry fairly quickly, especially if you can get them outside to sun. (We live in Oregon, so as of right now this isn't much of an option.)

Also I noticed when taking off the used diaper that the inside soaker flaps were a little bunched and shifted. However again not a problem as long as they don't leak...and they didn't!

So overall this diaper is a winner! Especially for someone looking for easy cloth diapering or just starting out. Also if your looking for a trim fit diaper!

You can purchase the bumGenius Freetime All-In-One Diaper here at ThanksMama for $19.95. They also have many fun color choices and patterns!

Make sure you follow ThanksMama on Facebook for updates, coupon codes and all things diapering!

Do you wish you could try one of these diapers too? You can! Make sure you enter my upcoming Mother's Day Cloth Diaper Giveaway Hop starting May 1st! ThanksMama has generously offered one of my readers a chance to win one of these diapers too!

Crayon Rocks Review

I am so excited to share with you this brand Crayon Rocks! You might think, oh just another crayon...but I can assure you these are NOT your everyday crayon.

These are bright colored little "rocks" made right here in America from natural soy wax, using American-grown soy beans and colored with mineral pigments. This means they are non-toxic, vegan and have zero phthalates! YAY!

Since crayons are usually the first writing tool a child will use, each rock is designed and shaped to strengthen the tripod grip muscles. This prepares the fingers and hands for pen and pencil use. These are shaped so perfectly it is almost impossible to hold them any other way.

These little rocks have bright bold colors and one of the first things I noticed was how smooth they were and how effortlessly the colors glided across the paper. Almost if they were a paint or pastel. Both of my son's grabbed these up immediately and couldn't wait to start coloring.  Now they are small and could be a choking hazard so they are not meant for children under 3. However with supervision my youngest son who is 1 could easily hold these rocks and color with ease.

Crayon Rocks were invented by Barbara Lee after learning how important it was to develop early a good tripod grip. Barbara has been teaching children with special needs for 23 years and wanted a coloring tool that students with grip strength problems and disorders effecting fine motor control could easily use and enjoy. Parents and teachers of special needs children often tell her how much the children love them.

Crayon Rocks come in little draw string treasure bags. They come in either bags of 16 rocks or 8 rocks. Or you can choose a set of 64 in an eco-box. You can also choose if you would like a velvet bag or a muslin cotton treasure bag. Purchase Crayon Rocks here!

I think these are far superior to "regular" crayons and anyone with children should try these out. Not only are they better for your child, they will clean up and travel well too! I also think these would be fantastic favor bags for kids birthday parties!

Would you like to WIN a set of your own? Crayon Rocks was kind enough to send over a couple extra bags for my giveaway! So make sure you check back on May 22nd and enter my giveaway for the Shake, Rattle & Roll - baby, toddler & kids giveaway hop!
